John Jarratt sings to bring Schapelle Corby home

Monday, December 10, 2012
Australian actor John Jarratt has written a Christmas song dedicated to bringing Schapelle Corby home for Christmas.

In the video, which has been posted on YouTube, John directs his plea to Prime Minister Julia Gillard, saying, “This could be your daughter, this could be your son.”

He adds that regardless of her guilt or innocence, the 35-year-old convicted marijuana smuggler was given a longer sentence than a murderer and should be brought home now.

“So a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year, but poor Schapelle Corby she won’t be here. Bring her home if you want it. Bring her home now,” he sings.

The video, called John Jarratt's Xmas Carol for Schapelle Corby to Julia Gillard and Australia, sees the 61-year-old Wolf Creek actor sing his own words to the tune of So this is Christmas, about Schapelle "rotting" in a Bali jail over the holiday season.

Watch John’s rendition of the song in the video player above.

Your say: What do you think of John’s plea? Do you agree with him?

John Jarratt should stick to his own family problems - he has enough of his own to solve.
Look at the pretty little model (forget her name) who was found with amphetamines in a night club shortly after Schapelle, but she was muslim and paid a Dr to claim she had ADHD. NO JAIL FOR HER. Back home safely. Hmmn
It makes it easier to believe Schapelle is guilty because the thought of someone spending their lives in a hell hole when they are innocent is beyond most peoples comprehension. I believe Schapelle is innocent. I think she is a victim of a dodgy indonesian judicial system that makes innocent people prove they are innocent (which is pretty much impossible when the system is so corrupt). I think she is also a victim of a predominantly muslim society that believes westerners are infidel swine. Give all the Indonesian prisoners (who have been proven guilty in our Australian system) back to Indonesia and bring Schapelle home. And DONT FORGET if you choose to travel to a dodgy country just because it has a nice beach, and someone plants drugs on you, that could be YOU in prison for 20 years in an instant. Goodluck proving youre innocent.
The Australian government withheld vital evidence from the Bali court. The proof of this is on the Expendable website. All CCTV footage went missing from Brisbane, Sydney domestic and Sydney International airports. Is this acceptable? Not one frame of footage (that Schapelle begged for) ever recovered. How could this happen? Schapelle's body board bag was the only one on that flight NOT scanned. Once again, for proof of this, visit the Expendable website. And this is only the tip of the iceberg.
the saddest porblem with all this is the status the media give this woman. Media keeps forgetting she is drug mule and therefore a criminal.
she is not home for Christmas because she committed a crime. If she wanted money so bad she should have got a proper job and not one that poisons ones mind. John thought you lost the plot a while back but this is only confirming it.
Why he he singing to bring her home what about the others in jails all around the world i say leave her there like the rest of them and teach them being a drug courier doesn't pay you do the crime you do the time.Sick of hearing about this person she is not a celebrity but a crim. Please give us a break there are more important issues in this world than her.
Anyone who has taken the time to look at the evidence at the expendable project can see that there is much evidence to suggest that the Australian Government has done a huge cover-up in regards to Schapelle. Australia needs to make thier government accountable for any corruption. The government expects its people to be honest and to not be corrupt. No matter what happens one thing is for sure, the government will be exposed and have to answer to the courts for what they have done. They might as well start doing the right thing and free Schapelle now.
Thank you to John and to Woman's Day for putting this issue in the public eye. Any serious examination of the facts shows how shockingly biased and unjust was the process of the Indonesian court. It could have been any one of us, but it happened to be Schapelle. Worse still, knowing how the Australina government has abandoned Schapelle makes me ashamed of Australia and being Austalian. Wake up, Australia - this girl needs to come home NOW.
It is time for Schapelle to come home. She was never given a fair trial, evidence torched she begged them to stop, no testing for fingerprints even when she begged it. CCTV Footage mysteriously disappeared from 3 Australian airports Brisbane domestic, Sydney domestic and Sydney International? NOTHING ever seemed right with her case. People need to do their research, there are a lot of factsand unanswered questions that most people don't know about her case. Indonesia has discriminated against Schapelle, with Indonesians serving a lot less time for way more kg of marijuana than the 4.2kg that ended up in Schapelle's boogie board bag. Muhammad Ali 10kg 5 years, Jhon Destanta Sinuhaji 30kg 10 years, Hendri Utama Di 15Kg 6 years, Schapelle Corby 4.2kg 20 years. A massive discrepancy in sentencing. Today is International Human Rights day, discrimination is a major human rights violation. Free Innocent Schapelle
