Schapelle Corby's boyfriend: 'He'll be her baby daddy'
"Schapelle is desperate to have a child and, if it happens, Ben is definitely going to be the dad, absolutely, yes."
Her Indonesian boyfriend is putting a smile on her face ... and may make her dream of motherhood come true.

If Schapelle Corby is to ever realise her dream of becoming a mum, it will be Indonesian man Ben Panangian who will father her child, say insiders. Former inmate Ben, 32, fell for Schapelle while serving a three-and-a-half-year sentence for drug possession in the same Bali hellhole.

They met in 2006 during a church service – the only time males and females can mingle at Kerobokan prison – and their friendship quickly blossomed into something more. Schapelle’s sister, Mercedes, says it’s Ben’s love that has helped pull Schapelle, 34, through the darkest days of her eight years behind bars.

He was also there when Mercedes broke the news to Schapelle that the Indonesian president had slashed a further five years off her 20-year sentence. And while it’s now doubtful she’ll be released in August, as initially hoped, our source says Ben’s bond with Schapelle is unshakable. “Schapelle is desperate to have a child and, if it happens, Ben is definitely going to be the dad, absolutely, yes,” says our Bali-based insider.

“She’s still that Gold Coast surfie chick at heart ... and it’s coming out in her again. She and Ben share a passion for the surf and the whole lifestyle that goes with it.” A former marketing student at Surabaya University, one of Indonesia’s best tertiary institutions, Ben quickly ditched the suit and tie to pursue his first love. He now makes his living taking foreign surfers to the island’s best breaks.

I've read her book and do sympathise. However, guilty or not, she was caught, tried and sentenced. Only Schappelle knows the truth. But isn't it time she was released? Murderers have been given a lesser sentence! Let her go now and leaver her be to get on rebuilding her life.
To all the people on here moaning about always having to hear this sob story you should be ashamed of yourselves. Imagine for one second you or a person close to you was in this situation how would you feel. The conditions this women has had to put up with over the last eight years is disgusting. I feel somewhat moved that after enduring these conditions for that length of time and still staying strong is amazing and whether or not she is guilty doesn't really matter anymore. Most of the people commenting on here are Australian you should be fighting for her not turning your back to her. She has been through enough pain and suffering. I've seen people being sentenced less for cold blooded murder It really is a sad world, don't be so narrowminded take two minutes out of your day to think how you would have survived 8 years of constant suffering for someone else's crime!
Guilty or not this women has been punished more than enough. Surely it is an act that would involve more than one person and she is copping it for all of them.( I personally am not convinced she is guilty or if she is then she is keeping her mouth shut out of fear or love? ) The anguish on her face and the conditions she has endured are enough to tell you that even when released she will still be paying one way or another.
Dear oh dear me!. What in the name of justice does this woman get to be freed from her sentence that she deserved. She got caught and has to suffer the consequences, she knew that. And who in their right mind believes that this is the first time she has imported dope into Bali?. Come on Australians, are you all that concerned about her?. I certainly am not convinced that she is innocent and this is the first time I have voiced my opinion about her. I am sick and tired about all of this. Let her do her sentence and then welcome her when she comes back home. I bet she'll never do that again!
Time to release Schapelle..Time to stop the endless debate about her guilt or innocence - Time to stop the hypocrisy of the Indonesian xenophobic justice system. Half of the Nation is addicted to Shabu and the other half is addicted to terrorism.
Hope everything works out fine for her. Alot of people including myself have mental illness and children who are very smart and well adjusted.
Enough of this woman. She is a drug trafficker and she has been caught. If she has a mental illness as her family keeps reminding us then she should not be thinking about bringing a child into this world.
sick of reading about all this time to give it a rest y so much on about her
All freight is weighed when its handed over at the check in area....Surely the board was weighed at that time......All they had to do was check the weight on arrival and that would have shown if it had been tampered with after she passed it through.....
What I can't understand is that everyone is saying "do the crime, do the time" but the amount of time she must spend in jail for smuggling Marijuana is absurd compared to what other people get for worse crimes (I do realise she was trialed under Indonesian law) but still, even reading another news article today a woman only got 6 years for killing her two sons!! You thinks she deserves to be let off in 6 years while Schapelle is still in jail?!
