It's well known that beauty pageant mums are quite competitive but one mum in the US has likened the experience to doing drugs.

The mum from Michigan named Kelly appeared the on the TLC show Toddlers in Tiaras in the US on Wednesday night.

"We do pageants because they're fun and addicting," she said.

"Pageants are just like drugs or alcohol. You do drugs because you want to get high. You do pageants because you want to win."

And as scenes from the episode played out it is clear that she fully believes in this statement.

Kelly started the show on a high, as she prepared her two-year-old daughter Natalie for the show. But when things didn't go her way, it turned ugly.

"Shut the front door!" Kelly said in shock when the results didn't favour her little girl.

"Let's go. This is a f---ing joke! Leave the crown on the chair. Let's go!"

i think that pageants are good, though you should only do them if YOU want to, not if your parents force you to. You go there to have fun, and you can't always win. Sure, you can get a little upset if you don't win, but if you're not going to appreciate what you got, and you act like, 'Oh, they made a mistake, oh, the winner din't deserve it,' then you shouldn't be doing them
I think she's a joke. Joke joke joke!
these parents are sick and demented. The pageants have nothing to do with their kids and all to do with their obsessions. Their kids end up with emotional and social issues due to the competitiveness and stress. They should be totally banned and any parent that subjects their kids to this form of abuse should be charged with child abuse.
It's much more about the Mothers and sometimes the Fathers than the kids. Just let them grow up normally and be kids, they only get one chance at it after all.
I think this one of the most horrible things that parents subject their kids to. It's not about the kids having fun at all, it's about these mums being competitive and using their kids to win. Kiddy pageants should be banned, they are no good for anyone and it makes me sick to see toddlers dolled up.
