Learn to tune in to your Intuition
One of the most common questions I receive is "How do I tune in to my intuition and cut out all the noise that stops me from hearing it?" This 'noise' is the product of the multitude of voices that reside within us, all fighting for our attention, all insisting they are right. They belong to our fears, old beliefs, past experiences, family, friends, society, and even science has now proven, cellular memory belonging to our parents and grandparents!

Somewhere deep among that mix is the quiet voice of our true self, our intuition, filled to the brim with wisdom yet constantly overshadowed by all that lies on top of it.

Finding a way

Whenever we are faced with any kind of decision, from major life changing ones to the small ones we make consciously and subconsciously a hundred times a day, our inner radar sends out a signal to figure out which way to go. In response, anything inside us that resembles an emotional match to that signal gets triggered.

For example, we might get a feeling to leave our job to follow our dream of running our own business. To help us with our decision we go within only to be met by an avalanche of fear and doubt telling us we can't do it, we're not experienced enough, that we're letting go of a secure salary for something that could leave us homeless and bankrupt!

Instead of finding some clarity, we find ourselves as confused as someone who is trying to listen to several different radio stations at once. We need to find a way to tune in to our intuition — our 'true self' channel.

Your own personal GPS

Our 'true self' channel is like our very own personal GPS, encoded with all the information it needs to get where it most wants to go via the best possible route. When we are tuned in to this channel we find that life flows as if by magic. Opportunities and synchronicities abound at every turn, and we are guided step-by-step to make decisions that are in alignment with our soul's truth and destiny.

When we are tuned in to the channels belonging to our inner 'noise', we find ourselves feeling lost, unhappy, frustrated and disconnected from that which would bring us joy.

Top three ways to stay in tune with your intuition

Here are some simple ways to stay tuned in to your 'true self' channel:

  1. Be aware that the 'noise' channels exist. Pay attention to any thoughts that don't make you feel good — and train yourself to change the channel.
  2. Keep your awareness in the 'now' moment. This links you directly to your true self.
  3. Worrying about the past or future bends your antennae. Focus on your breath to get clear and present.
