The Murray Family, Brisbane Queensland
"Let’s not make Aussie autistic children another stolen generation"
“I am a mother of four kids, two with special needs. Christian, four has severe autism and an intellectual impairment and my 11 year old James has speech and language impairment,” says mum Sarah.
My husband has been treated for prostate cancer and is also facing further surgery . Christian does not answer to his name or understand language.
Christian is in terrible condition and we need support workers in our house every day just to manage him at home. My other kids miss out on so much because of this.
Christian has been attending a full time program in Brisbane which has been fantastic. This has been partly funded by us and charity, but there will be no future funding for Christian after June.
Our beef is that the Australian government’s own best practice guidelines say you need 20 hours of intensive intervention a year for at least two years -which we just can’t afford.- $24 000 per year.”

The pledge calls for people to vote in the next Federal and State elections, for the political party which publicly promises to transform Australia’s broken, inefficient, crisis-driven disability support system.
