When it’s cold or rainy outside it can be a challenge to occupy the kids, let alone keep them active. Combat the boredom with our handy easy activity ideas for indoor play.
Why not pin these to the fridge door so that you always have an answer to the inevitable ‘I’m bored!’ (Just make sure you join in too!)
No longer bored indoors
Having some indoor games in mind will keep your family’s winter fun-filled. They don’t have to be particularly energetic as long as they keep you and the kids moving. Traditional games such as
hide-and-seek and
treasure hunts are always a hit, as well as classic games like Twister! You will end up having so much fun that you’ll hardly notice you’re being active!
Just keep swimming
You don’t have to be Ian Thorpe to enjoy the water all year round! Local swimming pools usually run plenty of family-friendly sessions, and just moving about in the water and having fun will have its benefit. Plus, swimming is not only a great way to keep fit, it’s a really important life skill for the kids to have.
Bowled over
Ten pin bowling is great fun for young, older and big kids alike! Why not get together with another family and form teams? Otherwise, improvise with indoor bowling: after clearing the hallway, use a ball and empty plastic bottles. Strike!
Dance like no one’s watching
Putting on some music is such an easy way to get the kids dancing about and having fun. Dancing to some upbeat tunes is bound to raise your mood as well as your pulse!
