INGREDIENTS
½ cup water
1/3 cup soy sauce
¼ cup pineapple juice
4 green onions, thinly sliced, plus extra to serve
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 level teaspoon mustard powder
1kg chicken wings
Steamed rice, to serve
METHOD
- In a large saucepan combine water, soy sauce, juice, onions, sugar and mustard powder. Mix well.
- Add chicken and stir well. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 40-45 minutes until chicken is tender remove lid for final 15 minutes of cooking.
- Serve topped with extra green onion. Accompany with steamed rice.
Top tipChicken could also be cooked in an oven bag add 1 tablespoon plain flour to the marinade mix. Prepare and secure bag as directed. Place in a baking dish. Bake in a hot oven, 200°C, for 35-40 minutes.
