Triple chocolate slice

Triple chocolate slice pie sent in by Debbie Purvis, Koyuga, Vic.
INGREDIENTS

200g plain chocolate biscuits, crushed
200g butter, chopped, melted
½ cup desiccated coconut
395g can sweetened condensed milk
60g butter, chopped
2 tablespoons golden syrup
150g milk chocolate, finely chopped
TOPPING
150g dark chocolate, chopped
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
METHOD

MAKES 24



  1. Preheat oven to moderate, 180°C. Lightly grease and line a 20 x 30cm slice pan with baking paper.

  2. In a large bowl, combine biscuits, butter and coconut. Mix well. Press firmly into pan. Chill until required.

  3. In a medium saucepan, combine condensed milk, butter and syrup. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, 8-10 minutes, until thickened. Remove from heat. Stir chocolate through until smooth. Pour mixture over base. Bake 10 minutes, until firm. Allow to cool completely.

  4. TOPPING: In a small saucepan, combine dark chocolate and oil. Stir over low heat until melted and smooth. Spread over cooled slice. Chill until firm. Slice into small squares to serve. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.


TOP TIP
  • Biscuits can be crushed in a food processor – or place them in a plastic bag, seal and crush using a rolling pin.
