Anne Hathaway: Kate Middleton is my style icon

Anne Hathaway praises Catherine the Duchess of Cambridge's style
She hasn't exactly got it right every time, but it seems that when it comes to Anne Hathaway's favourite style icon, Catherine the Duchess of Cambridge can do no wrong.

The actress has praised the princess for her "ladylike" dress sense, telling USA Today she was setting the standard for a new "anti-Hollywood" look.

"Can I tell you how grateful I am to Kate Middleton? Because she is such an advocate for dressing like a lady," she said.

"I think for a few years that kind of slightly dirty look was adopted by Hollywood — you know, the stringy hair, homeless thing."

Despite trying this look herself, the 28-year-old actress says she couldn't pull it off and it made her look "chubby".

"I was like okay, I'm going to give that a go. (But) it doesn't suit me, I don't suit it," she said.

"I always looked kind of chubby."

Anne, who is dressed by celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe, says she is now basing her look on Catherine's style.

"I'm just very grateful to Kate for making looking appropriate really fun again," she said.

"So right now my fashion choices are all about Kate Middleton."

She is super classy in her understated way of dressing up and I applaud her for not letting anybody contaminate her and making her look like a puppy doll. She is an icon in everything she does and her sweet smile and manners are so appropriate for any accosiuon, like the other review above mine says, she is definitely a lady and an icon to this young generation who seem to have forgotten what it is like to dress in a manner to be recognised as a lady. Hurray for Kate, she is very much like Diana, the only difference is that she is loved by William.
The Duchess has to dress like a lady, but is dressing way beyond her years, is horribly thin, and dressing as thought she was 45 not 29. i don't think that Anne's comments are correct, and perhaps she should have just focused on dressing herself, without a stylist. i mean honestly...
I totally agree that Kate, The duchess of Cambridge, is a style icon. She isn't like other celebrities in that she sometimes wears the same outfit twice, *gasp!* I think it makes her even more likeable, could I even say, like a people's princess? She uses some makeup products that most of us could afford, i.e Nivea moisturiser, dresses like a lady, and wears outfits that most of us could copy. I love her style, she seems like a lovely, sophisticated, down to earth woman who is always a lady. She's my style icon.
I applaud Kate for not having a stylist, makeup artist etc. I think she is fantastic for recycling clothing. She is setting a great example to young adults and teens that its all about feeling comfortable and happy with yourself. To be yourself. The poms would be complaining if she spent thousands on new clothes all the time. As for Vivienne Westwood - sour grapes, lady. The only thing that made you well known was your weirdness. Kate is a great ambassador and for gods sake give her a go. Do the press always need to crucify people?
