<i>The Amazing Race</i>'s Anastasia tells Why I dumped Chris
The newly single contestant spills the beans on her romance and reveals she’s no angel herself!.

Together they pulled a pint-sized princess through Prague and downed doughnuts in Amsterdam on The Amazing Race Australia. Now, struggling couple Anastasia Drimousis and Chris Pselletes have called time on their fiery relationship – and she is thrilled!

“We don’t miss each other at all,” Anastasia, 22, tells Woman’s Day. “A couple of weeks ago we sat down and laid everything on the table. We both decided not to continue [the relationship], and go forth as friends instead. There wasn’t even a lot of crying.” Audiences have been howling for the Sydney nutrition student to walk away from her boyfriend of three years since scenes showing Chris, 23, berating and insulting Anastasia went to air last month.

“Daddy never spanked you when he should have,” he taunted during one argument. Far from feeling victimised, Anastasia has moved on from their toxic partnership without much fanfare. “I don’t want to be a poster girl for those kinds of relationships,” she insists.

“A lot of girls have gone through tough relationships and they need to look up to someone who has been through what they have. I want to be a role model for people who want to be happy in their lives.” With their wedding called off, Anastasia is looking for love again – with someone the exact opposite of dictatorial Chris.

I just want to say good on you for ending the relationship. I saw the way he treated you on the show, and I was horrified. No woman should be treated that way, no matter what. What you did is also an example to other women that they don't have to suffer in silence. I am really happy for you that you feel you did the right thing. I see a lot of women in these kinds of relationships who just keep going through it because they're blinded by their feelings. I'm glad that Chris' behaviour during the race (and I can imagine back in the real world, too) has woken Anastasia up to what was really going on. No woman deserves to be treated that way, and I hope she DOES find someone amazing (pardon the pun), because she seems like a pretty strong-willed and active-minded girl. She showed through her reactions that Chris didn't 'break' her, but I imagine it just built up to a point that it was not warranted putting up with it just for the sake of the relationship. Well done!
I can completely understand how the Amazing Race would be extremely stressful, however, Chris really lost his temper quite shockingly and it really didn't come across well at all. I'm sure he just wanted the best for the team, but unfortunately, it came at the price of Anastasia's dignity. She did very well to bite her tongue and not make a bigger scene than it already was, in front of the cameras. I'm sure they were a passionate couple, but you really can't start a marriage with that sort of aggression and conflict. I'm sure it may be difficult for a while, but they have completely done the right thing and can do a bit of soul searching before finding the one they're meant to be with. Congrats to both of you for realising it before you got married. It really does take guts and you'll look back and be thankful you had the courage to do it now!
The bruises you can't see do as much damages as the ones you can. Verbal abuse bruises your confidence, your sense of self worth and your emotions. I am glad this situation has ended, let's hope they both learn something about what they want from future relationships.
They are right to split up, Chris was clearly a bullying controller & Anastasia did right to speak up for herself. It is good to see they both realise they are not suited to each other I hope both of them will learn from this & move on to better relationships in the future...
Great going Anastasia ! He really needs to take a good look at the footage and see how he is speaking to someone he says he loved ... there was nothing loving in his comments .. good on you both for knowing how to end something that was so toxic
i think she has done the right thing,the way her fiance acted towards her on the show was demoralising and disgusting,having being in a soul destroying relationship myself i know that if she wouldve stayed with that guy it would destroy her mentally which is far worse than any physical pain,anastasia is right in saying this should not be look at as what a relationship is supposed to be like because a relationship where a man makes you feel low and worthless is not the way it should be,no woman deserves that treatment and should be cherised not destroyed.
Good move Anastasia. Mental abuse is far worse than physical abuse. With the latter,it is obvious to the world that there is a problem, but with mental abuse you see nothing. Mental abuse is destructive and sad. Anastasia, be glad you went on the Amazing Race. It was a very important step in your life, to shake away from an arrogant, unstable and domineering life partner. You are youthful, beautiful and intelligent, and can find someone who equals you, that compliments your personality and nature. Life's too short to spend it with someone who is so insecure and afraid. I don't even know why you would want to remain friends with him. Start a new life without him lurking around!

I bet your kids are just as rude when you are not around! I have a 12 year old daughter and i have been with my partner for 5 years. He struggles alot with my daughter because she gives him hell. She has said several times she wishes it was just me and her again, but because my partner loves me he sticks it out and knows that it's just her trying to get her own way. He loves her and would do anything for her no matter what she does, that's what's good parents do. If you can't warm to a child or don't like your soon to be step child then dont marry the parent.
