In between shooting scenes for the TV cooking competition, Jonathan crammed in a walk down the aisle that had been thrown into doubt by his success in the kitchen … and a honeymoon!
“At the end of the first week of top 50 we had a weekend off, so I snuck away and got married,” says Jonathan, 33, of his wedding to Mandy, 28. “But I was rushed off for filming the next day.
“Then when I made it through to the top 24, it looked like we’d lose our honeymoon. Luckily, we had another quick break and – following a lot of pleading with travel agents and resort owners – I managed to shift our honeymoon to the Maldives into that tiny gap!”
Jonathan originally won Mandy’s heart with a six-course dinner including champagne and oysters, tuna sashimi, beef fillet with herb crust, and créme brûlée with twisted almond biscuits.
