Good things come in twos – just ask Nicole Richie and hubby Joel Madden.
For years, Nicole Richie, wife of The Voice coach Joel Madden, has dreamed of having a big family. “I want five children. Twin boys and three girls,” Nicole says. “I’ve wanted that since I was a little girl.” Now the happy couple – who already have two adorable children, Harlow, 5, and Sparrow, 3 – are hoping to add their brood, and they’re hoping for more than one at a time!
“Ever since Nicole was little she’s dreamed of having twin boys,” says a source. “She’d love to have a total of five kids… but she definitely wants a set of twins in the mix.” Last week, Nicole – who once suffered from body image issues – was in the best shape of her life while on holiday with girlfriends in St Barths. “She is a mother of two, a wife, runs a fashion empire, but she still finds time to dance!” says her trainer, celebrity fitness guru Tracy Anderson.
With Nicole feeling fitter and stronger than ever, there’s no doubt this is the perfect time for a couple of new additions to the clan. “She told me that she got pregnant easily the first two times, so it shouldn’t be that hard,” a friend tells In Touch magazine. “But they are definitely trying.” And seeing the bond between Joel and his identical twin brother Benji has only cemented Nicole’s desire for two bubs at a time.
“Nicole loves how close Joel and his twin brother are,” says the source. “She wants to have two boys who can share that same closeness. She sees so much of her husband in his twin that she considers Benji her best friend.” Joel, who returns to Australia with Nic and the kids next month, agrees he and Benji are close. “We finish each other’s sentences and sometimes when I get really worried about Benji and call him, I find he’s feeling the same way,” says Joel.
