Keith Urban: I should never have quit The Voice
Keith knew there’d be friction between the two women, but had no idea how vicious and threatening it would become.

The former Voice coach is wishing he’d stayed on home turf.

Keith Urban left the warm and fuzzy love-in of the The Voice and found himself caught in the crossfire between forever-feuding divas Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey on American Idol. No doubt his new job has been a rude awakening for our laid-back country superstar, who got on famously with fellow The Voice judges Delta Goodrem, Joel Madden and Seal.

Forced to play peacemaker between Nicki and Mariah, whose screaming matches have shocked the entertainment world, the father of two is regretting his decision to quit his Aussie gig for the lucrative US TV show. “They don’t pay me enough to have to deal with this crap,” the National Enquirer quoted Keith as saying.

“Keith knew there’d be friction between the two women, but had no idea how vicious and threatening it would become,” a source also told the mag. “What makes him uncomfortable is the level the animosity has escalated to. And his wife, Nicole Kidman, is concerned as well.”

While Keith tries to put a positive spin on the fights, saying “I love working with passionate people”, it’s clear the strain is a not-so-welcome change of pace. “I was the UN,” he told celeb news website Extra of one angry on-set exchange between Nicki and Mariah (see video below). For Keith, it’s a world away from the happy family atmosphere on The Voice.

Good grief that Nicki piece should'nt be allowed out her front door - what a fowl-mouthed parasite.
Keith please come back the chair has not been filled yet !!! The Voice would"nt be the same with out you. Producers , " PLEASE BRING HIM BACK"
I don't think Keith should be condemmed for changing jobs. Everyone on this earth does it. Most of us want to secure a good future for ourselves and our familes, we'd be silly not to take the opportunites that are put in front of us. Keith is no different. He is going to be greatly missed, there is no doubt about that, but he will be back. This is where he grew up. You never forget your homeland no matter where life takes you. He is on a huge learning curve at the moment to increase his skills in managing hopeful artists wanting to make their way in the music industry as well as working successfully with damned difficult co-workers. He is an extremely valuable asset to contestants, as the hardships he endured in his struggle 'to make it' can only remind them that you can do it if you have the fire to succeed. His down to earth Aussie personality will help mould careers bringing out the best in people without ridicule. That's the Aussie way! We love you Keith! All the best!
I was really saddened to hear that Keith had taken up the offer from 'Idol', hopefully he will be able to get out of the contract that he signed & come back to 'The Voice', a much more dignified show! He didn't need to 'get himself out there', he was already there! We love him in Australia & he was definateley an asset on The Voice, if anyone had to leave, I was hoping it would be Delta, nowhere near the talent, & I got sick of her sugary comments & fence-sitting!
come on boys and girls of course money is an issue it's his job isn't it? Keith is not responsible for the girls' bad behaviour. Any worker has the right to be in a decent work enviroment so why not Keith's. Yes Keith is the idol of many but how quikly you girls turn when you don't get what you want,we aussies are noted for the put downs so quickly after the accolades. Peace to you Keith.
Some of these money comments are crazy. We all try to make economic decisions every day. I've had jobs that I didn't like... It's a shame how those 2 are acting. I hope their fans are just as appalled and maybe it will affect their economics enough to make them reconsider their trash.
What a bunch of funny comments..I'm glad you guys can read his mind..."He only made the switch cos of money no other reason." Are you sure?? Did you know he actually lives in the U.S. most of the time?? Plus 90% of his fans are over there... (good luck trying to be a successful Country singer in Aus) Maybe it's more convenient to work in the U.S. I also seriously doubt he's short on cash...glad you shared your poorly thought out opinions though !!
Can't believe people criticizing him for changing jobs because of the money. I suppose they'd go to work each day for less pay just because they love their jobs? Keith is like everyone else. He works in order to earn money!! He took the job because they offered him a lot more money and it was nearer his recording studio. There's actually only one negative direct quote from him and who hasn't said that at work? (They don’t pay me enough...) Most of the fighting between those 2 is staged anyway - it's intended to put some life in what would otherwise be a very boring show!
I don't watch either show and I am not a Keith Urban fan but you gotta feel for the guy. He seems very placid, laid back and friendly and from what I hear he made some huge fans on the Voice. Sometimes, money ain't everything. You've got to watch what you wish for. Those two women are disgusting drag queens. Get them off I say !!
