Scientology bends the rules so Tom can see Suri

Tom Cruise may be missing in action from his daughter Suri’s life since his split from Katie Holmes, but spending time with his six-year-old is harder than you might think.

The heads of the strict Church of Scientology have given Tom special treatment by allowing him to even see his daughter.

“They have already bent the rules for Tom," former president of the Scientology Celebrity Center Nancy Many told RadarOnline.

“If Tom was any other Scientologist, including lesser celebrities, he would not be allowed to continue seeing and maintaining communication with Katie or Suri, because they are no longer in Scientology.”

Tom has been physically absent from Suri’s life of late and, apart from a trip to Disney World in late June, has been spending less and less time with his daughter.

He even missed her first day of school due to filming commitments in London. Nancy says she is surprised Tom is able to see Suri at all.

“When every other person that I have known of leaves Scientology, which Katie did without speaking of it directly, they are instantly shunned," Nancy said.

“By rejoining a Catholic Church right afterwards, she made a very public statement of rejection.”

The alleged special treatment has upset other Scientology members in a similar situation who are unable to talk to their loved ones due to the strict rules of the religion.

Nancy explains that as soon as someone leaves the religion they are immediately shunned by those involved with it.

This was certainly the case when Tom estranged himself from ex-wife Nicole Kidman and ex-girlfriend Penelope Cruz.

When asked if Scientology was making an exception for its most famous member, Tom’s rep said: “None of this is true”.

Separating you from any non-believers is part of the definition of a cult. They need to control your mind and the only way to do that is to make sure theirs is the only input your mind (or whatever is passing for it) has. Not even the strictest Muslims "shun" anyone not of their faith. It is strictly a cult behavior. Tom Cruise is NOT stupid. One would think that his common sense would kick in here. Suri is his daughter. What kind of a "religion" would blame a small child, who is at fault for absolutely NOTHING, and consider her a danger to even associate with her?? The indisputable answer - NO religion would. ONLY a cult. A REAL parent with a mind of their own would shun THEM for even suggesting he shun his daughter. Time to be a REAL parent, Tom.
scientology is a cult, only that a cult....of course they shun the ex members, they may let our secrets, the idiot who started it all wrote science fiction books .
Hey flc you reckon Cyan-bodgy is a religion do you, the only thing it has in common with any other religion was back in the dark ages!
Scientology is not a religion its a cult, and anyone who is involved with this circus is just a fool. The whole thing is based on a science fiction novel.
Tom Cruise may be a jerk as mentioned below, but he was into this kooky stuff before Katie came along - what the hell was she smoking to sign on to this freakshow, and then make matters worse by having a child with this fruitcake? For all his kookiness, Tom has been a *consistent* kook with a long history. Methinks this Katie person needs to spend a little more time pondering her life choices - you can't just jump on and off the 'crazy Tom' train as it suits your mood, particularly when it has consequences for others (in this case the offspring).
Tom should leave Scientology and be a real father to his daughter. Good on Katie for having the guts to walk away from a nightmare.
What a Jerk he is...it was always going to end this way, no way would Katie stay with him when she finally took her blinkers off. Suri is a very lucky little girl to have a mother that put her first, unlike Tom. Maybe one day he will fly away with the aliens and give us all a break.
seriously who the hell would want to be in a religion that would stop you from seeing your child for no good reason. who could commit to such rubbish beliefs. Id rather have no religion at all then succumb to such ridiculous rules. wowwwwwwwwww the heads of scientology have been so considerate to Tom. so, because he has money and fame he can get away with bending the rules? Let this be a lesson to other scientology members you not all equal in the eyes of their GOD!
he is nothing but a low life dad! he lets a religion tell him if he can or can't see his child? this is a sect full of people who are self consumed! living off a power trip!! i dont know how so many wealthy people get sucked into this money grabbing organisation!!!
I see the magazines and online news are continuing their witch hunt. Are they proud of themselves. What happened to the freedom of religion or is Scientology on the exclusion list?
