It’s a picturesque country property that boasts everything from a stylish, architect-designed four-bedroom house with manicured gardens to a tennis court, equestrian centre, nine paddocks and even a lake with a boathouse and fountain. Most fittingly, considering it is the new abode of Aussie cricket captain Michael Clarke and his wife Kyly, there’s also an irrigated, picket-fenced oval with a cricket pitch.

The couple reportedly snapped up the sprawling property for around $3.25 million. As far as Michael and Kyly, both 31, are concerned, Round Hill – a 93 hectare farm near the town of Berrima in NSW’s beautiful Southern Highlands – is the perfect venue for an elite cricket coaching academy, something Michael has wanted to establish for as long as he can remember.

"I have dreamed about doing something like this all my life, but because of my playing schedule I never had the time to act on it," he recently told The Daily Telegraph. Michael hopes the academy will be ready to open its doors within the next year or two to train junior cricketers from around the world in all areas of the game, including diet and fitness.

And he has no doubt about who is responsible for inspiring him to fulfil his vision – his interior- designer wife of four months. "Kyly’s been amazing," he said. "She took the dream and turned it into a reality. Her experience in design and property management will help make this academy happen, and I couldn’t be happier about it."
