Katie's crisis: Will I ever find love again?
She's nervous of attracting guys for all the wrong reasons. She’s afraid guys will take advantage of her celebrity status, and she's worried some men will spend all their time asking her about Tom.
 
After the triumph of her divorce, the reality of single life is shaking the actress to her core.

Just six weeks ago, Katie Holmes was riding high from successfully pulling off the most brazen divorce filing in Hollywood history. But now the buzz is wearing off, and the realisation that she’s a single mum who’s made an enemy of one of the most powerful, mysterious and charismatic men in showbusiness — and Scientology — is slowly sinking in.

"Katie foresaw a golden future for her and Suri, free of Tom and Scientology," a close friend tells UK Grazia. But those high spirits have quickly vanished, leaving Katie suffering a crisis of confidence — and wondering whether she'll ever find love again.

Despite Katie being approached by plenty of men for dates, a close friend tells Woman's Day exclusively, "She's nervous of attracting guys for all the wrong reasons. She’s afraid guys will take advantage of her celebrity status, and she's worried some men will spend all their time asking her about Tom. And, naturally, she’s scared of being trapped in another controlling situation."

"Katie won't have anticipated that she would suffer from a complete lack of self-confidence, and what it would actually feel like not being Mrs Tom Cruise," adds an insider. "It's like she’s struggling to maintain her identity while balancing work and keeping Suri grounded." Now 33-year-old Katie has reportedly enlisted a confidence coach she knew her before she met her ex-husband.

hey Pat calm down and don't put all women in the one basket ,if you were married to mr creepy cruise l would not blame you for being a little shifty in the way you left. Seriously every situation is different and should not be generalised some people are powerful and would be hard to leave especially if they got scientology behind them . l have helped 2 friends out of bad marraiges 1 was male and his wife was very violent and vindictive no kids thank heavens ,poor bloke she nearly destroyed him and the other a female who found her hubby had been sexually abusing her 3 oldest daughters ,and ohers l wouldn't help like that cause there's no need to be sneakyl tell them to be upfront and do it honestly. In Toms case he was pretty rotten to Nicle at the end of their marraige pulled the rug out so to speak this time he's had the rug pulled and finally l don't cheer the end of any marraige especially with kids always sad and Katie will pay, pay, pay she left mr scientology after all and nasty
Oh for goodness sake, she like botox Queen Nic Kidman knew exactly what they were getting into. Tom Cruise has NEVER EVER denied his involvement with Scientology.. he has never HID it. NOOOO But his ex wives Katie Holmes and Nicole Kidman all see it like they were SURPRISED by the Cult scenario. Yes Katie and Nicole wante that money.. that esteem .,. that prize.. GET OVER IT.. and move on.. even if its with a druggie singer.. move on...
Women don't just do all the things you just described Pat without good reason....same with Katie, if a man treats a woman like a possession and is controlling and a beast.....then of course a woman isn't going to just sit back indefinately and take it.......Sometimes women have to be 'underhanded' to get away.....if she was upfront....God knows what a 'crazy' man would do to her.....I don't blame some women from running away and using whatever means they can to escape for their own and their childrens safety and sanity.....There are many 'insane' control freak men who once they marry a woman treat her like his 'slave' and punching bag or abuse receptical......No woman in her right mind would stay with anyone like that for too long......I say GOOD ON any woman who can save herself from total 'whack job' men.....including Katie Holmes....i don't suppose you'd be one of those men Pat.....would you?......hmmmm
I was in a marraige where my ex husband controlled what I did, who I socialised with, what I was "allowed to wear etc etc etc" It took me years to get the courage to stand up and leave as when your in this situation you doubt your ability to make a decision. When you are controlled in everything you do it takes a lot of courage to do what Katie did and I applaud her. She is Tom Cruises SECOND wife to break free.... and to Katie be strong as life is so worth it. You will learn to believe in yourself again and you will be stronger for the experience and in one way it will be harder to meet someone again because you will NEVER allow anyone to take you ability to THINK away from you again .
Sounds like she really wants to hook any potential suitors up to the 'personality test' machine.
My god! She looks like she's 60! Living with Tom Craze must be like being in Gauntanamo Bay!
Pat And Anna you both sound like men reading the womens mags, Tom Cruise is a controlling nut case and Katie is so normal and a good Mum, Good luck Katie!
Instead of seeing this issue from our own perspectives, it is optimal to see it from Katie's to know why she felt she had to take this route. Since none of us is on a first name basis with Katie Holmes, or is even a passing acquaintance, I doubt that we can make an informed comment. We don't know if she knew what she was getting into with Tom, we don't know what went on between them that she felt she had to do what she did. Not all women, or men, are the same, so we can't lump them into the same pile. What we are hearing from those who do, is a reflection of their experience. We are hearing more about their lives.
Katie will be fine - as long as the media leave her alone.
