Why do people have to be so negative on the subject of same sex marriage. Why shouldn't same sex couples be allowed to marry. Because they have had to fight hard for the right to marry the person they love they would probably respect the institution more than any so called straight couple.s If two people love each other and want to have a hopefully life long manogamous relationship, who the hell are we to say no to that. The world has changed and the laws need to change with the times. Good on any couple or person who has the guts to stand out in the crowd, celebrity or not and say I am proud to be who and what i am. I lot of people could take a lesson or two in that. Religeous ideas are so out dated. the bible also does not allow you to terminate a pregnacy but hey you can do that cant you.!!!

Marriage is defined as the union between a man and a woman back in Genesis. If the homosexuals must have a legalised process call it a Sodom or a Gomorrah or something like that, because that is historic and has a meaning to it. Making something up just to suit themselves doesn't make it right - there is no background, history or truth in it - they are just trying to morally justify themselves with something that doesn't ring true.

Loving the homophobic disparaging comments (not). I despair at times. I know many gay and lesbian couples, most of which have more respectful and healthier relationships than many of us so called 'straight folk' in 'heterosexual' relationships. I pray for the day when we don't have to label each other, when coming out isn't news because there is no stigma and everyone can live with respect and harmony. Marriage is a union between two people who love each other, regardless of sexual orientation. I always wonder about people who are so vocal about their repulsion of gay people. Personally I'm comfortable enough with my own sexuality not to be threatened by someones else. As Shakespeare wrote "The lady does protests too much!" which is generally the case with homophobes. I met my husband when I was a teenager and now have been with him for 20 years, married for 16. If I had fallen in love with a women at that age I would have thought that by now I could also tell the whole world that she is mine and I am hers just the way I do about my husband, I really dont understand how this is any different. The feelings of LOVE are for the PEOPLE in the relationship, and it's not for others to tell them if it is right or wrong. Get over it and move on, surely today's society can be more accepting and less judgemental than this.

It's only heterosexuals that create homosexuals. Anyone over 25 can try fight it as much as they want, but the new generations couldn't care less about who marries who. Love is stronger and far more persistant than hate and thats basically all anyone needs to realise. "Haters gon' hate". People need to stop being so obsessed with sex. There are more important, interesting, enjoyable things to put energy into such as respect, the beach, art, music, learning chinese, travel and food rather than what someone does in their bedroom. I'm not an atheist nor am I religious. The argument shouldnt be "Should homosexuals be allowed to marry?" it should be "Should all humans have the same rights?". Its a yes or no answer. If you subcategorize it to homosexuals not being allowed to marry, then the flood gates open and who elses rights will you take away? Stop judging and get on with your own life, this isn't highschool. As an adult I would like to be able to share my day with who I choose.

Marriage is actually a LEGAL process not religious. Plenty of people get married at resistry offices and not in some old decrepid pointy building.
