The reality stars are finally getting married! And Waz’s romantic proposal couldn’t have been more perfect.

They were the couple we couldn’t get enough of during this year’s series of The Block – gorgeous, down to earth and madly in love. Yet despite calls from across the country for Waz Jones to make girlfriend of three years Polly Porter his wife, the stubborn renovator refused to use the reality show as a platform to propose. There was national outrage.

“It was at a point where I was getting berated by every young girl, every teenager, every mum and every granny on the street, coming up to me and saying, ‘Why haven’t you asked Polly to marry you? What’s going on?’” Waz, 28, laughs, looking at his now-fiancee sitting beside him sporting a huge smile and a dazzling diamond sparkler. “They’d pick up my hand, look at it, realise there was no ring and say, ‘Come on Waz! If you don’t, I will!’” adds Polly, 25. “It was hilarious.”

It’s great she can laugh about it. After all, there can’t be many women who’d find their boyfriend’s reluctance to commit amusing. But Waz says she wasn’t always so understanding. “About 18 months ago, Polly was getting anxious that I was never going to propose. She was really worried that, for whatever reason, it wasn’t going to happen. I had to explain to her that I wanted to be as excited about the engagement as she was, that I had no intention of marrying anyone else, but that I wasn’t ready to get married just yet.” “After that, I relaxed a bit,” Polly adds.

“I guess I knew then that it would happen. Waz said, ‘Let’s just relax and enjoy having a good time together.’” Fast forward 18 months, and they’ve done just that. After Polly was fired from The Celebrity Apprentice Australia, the couple took a well-deserved break. Spending some of their The Block prize money – they pocketed $115,000 – on a holiday, they jetted off late last month to Thailand with good friends and fellow The Block contestants Rod and Tania Walsh and their sons, Jye and Daniel. While an international holiday seems the ideal time for Waz to drop to bended knee, Polly says the idea hadn’t entered her head.

If you don't care, then don't go spitting on us people. I bet someday you'll like something or someone, and then when the show ends, you never hear from them again, and you might get a little upset that your favorite contestants have something big on that you would of liked to know about. Then people like yourselves will say things like 'who cares', 'its just a show' or 'why do you even bother?'. So just stop bothering us and go on with YOUR life. We like what WE like. just because we like it doesn't mean you have to like it, but that doesnt me you can just bother us.
Heard the only reason this Polly was on the show was coz her dad is a doctor on another ch 9 show? People should get a life instead of sitting infront of the box and watching rubbish shows like this. I love to read including stories like this on the web. certainly get a goodlaugh at people's reactions esp if views do not agree with theirs.
To Urban comment. Can see your point but unfortunately sometimes we have no choice in reading things because they are flung at us. I personnaly did not read thewhole story as I do not care about these two. Got engaged good on them but why are they anymore special than the next person. Why must we have stories on them? Must agree with some others who say these two only appeared on a show. they were not stars. they were contesting for a win!
1.Hotseat & Deal are GAME SHOWS where contestants get around 15mins of fame and then you never see or hear of them again. 2. The Block is a 'Reality TV Show', it lasted like what, 2 months, 5 nights a week for 1hr to 30mins a night?! If you don't like it then DON'T read these stories, watch the shows or complain look a sooky sour person you sound like. Congrats Polly & Waz! PS, bek is your real name Deni?
Urm....if you think they don't deserve attention, then why did you both read AND comment on the story? Congrats Polly and Waz - any couple as respectful of each other as the two of you are deserve every happiness in life.
who are they and who cares !
A friend is getting married this weekend. Happy wedding Carrie and Brian!!
Please define the meaning of reality stars. These two (amongst others)were contestants on a TV show. Why are they treated any different to those contestants apprearing on Deal or No Deal,Hotseat etc etc If they were not true contestants then the show was a fraud. she seems to be on anything Channel 9 promotes and now the magazines are promoting her or them. Please find someone new or more appealing.
Big Deal. They were only contestants on a show.Theyre not celebrities so why so much publicity for these two. Move on.
