VIDEO: Tom Cruise jumps from building for movie stunt

It’s well known that Tom Cruise performs his own stunts in movie roles, but it’s hard to believe that the 49-year-old agreed to this death-defying stunt for his new movie Mission: Impossible IV.

A behind the scenes video of the making of the movie, including scenes shot in November 2010, has just been released showing Cruise performing his own daring stunts.

Filmed in Dubai, the scenes show Cruise dangling from the observation deck of the Burj Kahlifa, the world's tallest building at 2,700 feet high.

During one scene he leaps from the building dangling by a suspension cord before running down the glass exterior.

The scene, which was filmed using cameras in the building as well as a helicopter crew circling it, may seem extreme but it’s a common occurrence on set.

“This is just another day at work on Mission: Impossible," director Brad Bird said.

I used to but he became arrogant. Scientology made him creepy ....fine to have your own thoughts etc but don't preach if you are a movie star ... the Brook Shield thing about pp depression ... seriously ... a doctor he is not! He really hasn't done films that are good since A Few Good Men or Rainman. His treatment of Nicole and his non sharing of their children and of course his jumping on Oprah's couch! What was he thinking? Poor Suri is being used to catch attention for magazines to keep his name in the limelight. Tut!Tut! Not nice!
I used to like TC and then I went along to see 'The Last Samurai'. I loved the movie but when TC out-Samurai-ed all of the local and expert Samurais and ended up being the sole survivor of that last great suicide charge,he lost me. They turned what,up til then, had been a terrific movie into an unbelievable farce. But then...that's Hollywood,never let the facts ,or logic, get in the way of a good movie.
