Nicole and Keith on Oprah down under!

The talk-show queen will be calling on her famous Aussie pals when she heads here next month.

When Oprah Winfrey hits our shores for her hugely anticipated Australian shows, there’ll be a who’s who of home-grown A-listers clambering to sit on her famous couch.

While the chat-show star’s production company, Harpo, has remained tight-lipped about her December trip, an insider has let slip that Nicole Kidman and husband Keith Urban will be among the stars taking part in Oprah’s odyssey Down Under.

“They’re delighted to have been asked and to be involved,” the source tells Woman’s Day. “This is great for Australia and they’re both passionate about celebrating the culture and people of this great country.”

But if you think you can guess where and when Nicole and Keith will be appearing in Oprah’s shows, think again.

“It won’t be on a live show and it won’t be in an area you expect that they’ll pop up,” the insider reveals.

They do go to Australia. The problem is that they both work in the United States. Keith has a huge career in the country music industry and Nicole is a major film star. Screw Tom Cruise. They were both wildly famous before Tom Cruise entered either of their lives. Keith was a very successful artist back in 04 and 05 and still is. Could that be because of Tom Cruise? Nope. Nicole Kidman? A tiny chance but he did have a huge fan base way back before Nicole entered the picture. Anyway, I'm just happy he is finally getting recognized by the Oprah show. I do wish that they just did a normal show, though. This whole "Oprah in Australia" thing is LAME. Congrats to Keith and Nicole, though!
i am so pleased she picked sydney but thats to be expected because we are the best state in aus, i like 10 mil others would have loved to be at the opera house but i will just as content watching it on telly let the world see how wonderful we are " i love a sunburnt country etc etc makes me feel proud to be a aussie perfect time of the year to come out too don't forget the sun glasses, hat, and uv30
well i would have loved to seen her show out here or meet her but nothing good like that happens and to meet nic or keith wow that would be a dream. guess you can dream.
I completely agree its somewhat of a sell out - but lets face it, the tourism and economical benefits of Oprah gouging the country far outweighs whatever token gestures are offered both culturally and financially. Who really cares if Nicole Kidman doesnt spend much time here? Who cares about Keith Urban at all?! As long as we dont get sold down the river and get a chance to review our worldwide identity, go for it. To whinge about a few mill given in taxpayer money, which will be dwarfed by the priceless flock of Oprah-brainwashed yanks opening their wallets around the country, is narrow minded at best. Spend money to make money, dont be so limited by economical and social conservatism.
A Listers!!! (untalented) Nicole was lucky enough to have married Tom Cruise otherwise she'll still be lucky enough to be starring in soapies. Well,, there's nothing much to say about Keith, he was an obscure singer, now they are Superstars????...I would thank Tom Cruise for their success. And we have to pay for them to come and do what? Boring, have some A listers with substance not those two
If i won tickets to the Oprah show which i DIDN'T Pretty devastating news actually, but now reading this even if i had won it would have been a disappointing show if Nic and her hubby are the guests, i wouldn't want to see Australian stars i would want to see American stars. but maybe the Oprah show couldn't afford to bring the Americans and a after local talent for guests..
A listers from Australia...where?
So I guess we'll be paying to get these two A listers who don't live or work in Australia to come "home" for a trip to be interviewed by an overated talk show host! What a load........
