Prince William: My mum taught me how to love

Prince William will strongly sense his mother’s presence when he stands at the altar with Kate.

His mother’s voice, her guiding presence, her very spirit, will be at the forefront of Prince William’s mind as he stands at the altar of Westminster Abbey waiting for his beautiful Kate.

As two billion people witness the prince on his special day, so many will turn their thoughts to the woman who lovingly moulded his entire world – his precious mum, Princess Diana.

“I wanted to make sure my mother did not miss out on today and the excitement that we are going to spend the rest of our lives together,” William said as he prepared for his wedding.

William, 28, won’t be alone in his thoughts. Those joining him in the Abbey, and indeed, the millions who have watched images of his parents’ wedding replayed in the lead-up to the big day, will spare a thought for a mother who is not there to celebrate her son’s momentous occasion. She was his world, the hands-on mum who famously said, “I live for my sons. I would be lost without them.”

As it turned out, William was lost without her. But even in his most anguished moments after her death in 1997, he remembered the one thing she promised would bring him happiness – love.
“If you find someone you love in your life,” she told him, in one of their many mother/son chats, “then hang onto that love”.
You can see he has taken heed of those words, by the way he tenderly holds his Kate.

I was really disgusted with the coverage of the Wedding provided by Stevanovic and Lisa. They were loud, ignorant and very unfunny although they seemed to think that they had to make a joke of just about everything. Their strident cackles were just awful. The addition of Dame Edna (of whom I am quite a fan) was also a mistake. Channel Seven had the good sense to keep their early morning presenters well away from the cameras during the broadcast. I thought Lisa, who usually looks very well groomed, looked frumpy in that red dress and that awful hat. Why did she feel she had to wear a hat. Thank goodness neither Ita nor Tracey fell into that trap! They both looked like what they were working journalists doing a good job. What struck me most about Karl and Lisa was their abysmal ignorance -- they had obviously not done any home except what they read in the press. Poor James looked very uncomfortable and embarrassed at times at their goings on. Not a Logie winning performance.!
Please william and Harry follow your beautiful mother NOT your father or grandfather. Love only your wife husband, respect them and they will respect you.
Long live the monarch
Photos of William & Harry as youngsters with Diana still make me smile. Both men seem to have picked up on her good attributes. Hope both make good choices in partner and have happy strong relationships.
The monachi lost its grip of peoples love when the peoples Princess of Wales HRH Diana R.I.P. departed to better place. Now the beloved son of Princess Diana Prince Williams will get this royal family some respect now. Godd luck and all the best
Princess Diana's spirit would've followed her boys from the minute of her unfortunate death and Williams wedding to Kate will be no exception.
Well I must say when I found out that the Prince, has found his beautiful Kate ,and how great they both have been going on since that time it''s no wonder with the Love and Motherly Love and caring he will make an unreal wonderful husband to his beautiful bride Princess Kate and his mum will be by both there side from the first day they met to the wonderful long happy life they will have. Love, is so right if its from a great member of the family and Diana was more than that and none other than she and her sons knew it from the start it make me want to cry as I''ve loved the Princess so much and always have had an great idea in her son''s future there lives will be number 1 always and for ever no mater what they will protect there loved one . I can not wait for the wedding day,and shall probably cry for joy not sadness as the Prince will make the best day of his life to take his Bride., and God Bless them for ever
If there is a way she can be there, I am sure she will. She will most definitely be there in spirit.
