Lisa Curry: I want Grant back

07:00 AEST Mon Oct 26 2009
Four months after storming out on her marriage, the swimming legend is going all out to win back her husband, Grant Kenny.

Standing face to face on the crisp, white sand of a Queensland beach, Lisa Curry and Grant Kenny soaked up the sun and delighted in each other's company, oblivious to other people on the beach.

It was Lisa – dressed to thrill in beach wear with her super-fit, tanned body on show – who seemed to be having the most fun. Smiling happily, the former swimming champ made a game out of stealing her estranged husband's sunnies, then playfully foiling his efforts to get them back.

"She was madly flirting with Grant – giggling like a schoolgirl, stroking his arm and making plenty of eye contact. He was trying to concentrate on what was happening in the ocean, but she kept teasing him and grabbing his attention – it was so cute," says one observer.

"For a wife who supposedly wants a divorce, Lisa seemed very aware of him. Even when she greeted their other ironman mates with a kiss and hug, she kept looking over to make sure Grant was watching, as if she was trying to spark a little jealousy."

On the very stretch of Gold Coast sand where they first met as teenagers nearly three decades ago, the Curry-Kennys were reunited as proud parents of their youngest child Jett, 14, who was competing for Mooloolaba Surf Club in the Coolangatta Gold junior event.

"It was like old times seeing them hanging out together, chatting in the sun. They are the two biggest celebrities in surf lifesaving circles, so Lisa and Grant being on again of course became the talk of the beach," says a former ironman and friend of the couple.

"We were all stunned to hear they'd split, so it would be a very popular move if they gave their marriage another go. They do suit each other, and when you have that special kind of connection, it doesn't just vanish overnight.

"Everyone who knows them has their fingers and toes crossed they'll make it – we're all hoping it's not too late."

Lisa stormed out of their luxury marital home on the Sunshine Coast in June – leaving Grant after 23 years of marriage and taking refuge in a beachfront penthouse before launching into a torrid fling with a much younger man, "love rat" Adrian Hunter.

Despite the split being Lisa's decision, it is understood she's recently had a change of heart…

It's obvious she wanted to have an affair, and who knows it could have already been going on with Hunter long before she "stormed out". Once theyve cheated how can you possibly trust them again. And she wasn't afraid of going public with the affair so soon after the split, so like I said, it was probably well in the works before she left. If Grant's got any brains and self respect he'll tell her right where to go.
The grass isn't always greener on the other side. I believe one you walk out the trust is gone and nothing will salvage that.
lisa go away and leave the poor man alone, he does not need your prima donna attitude
As one of the only few mammals who breed for life, this example of Curry Kenny is a good reason for humans to wake up and smell the roses and realise that we were not meant to with with the same partner for life. Nearly every other mammal has sex exclusively for fun and do not pair up for, let's get naked and go for it!!
I don't think we will ever really know what goes on within a marriage and neither we should. But if I can give them one bit of advice - "take your lives off line and do what is right for you and keep a low profile no matter what the outcome". It will benefit your self esteem, your kids and extended family and stop people thinking they can make inane comments about you.
Maybe the grass is not greener on the other-side when you realise that we grow older together if we love each other is comes Gracefully t get """GREY-TOGETER"
I think her "X" should stay that way "X" if he has any sort of respect for himself. She is a waste of space COUGAR
once a cheater always a cheater..
Grant do not take her back she made her bed let her lie in it she is to old to change how many times has she being unfaithfull say no.
The saying 'Once a cheater always a cheater' is such a load of bull. Granted sometimes it's applicable but you can't just lump everyone together like that. Who knows, if they got back together she might never do something like this again. Sometimes it takes something like this to happen to realise what your going to lose.
