Celebrity skinny crisis

Posh's bizarre food ban

Victoria Beckham has been warned she's putting her health at risk with her obsession for wearing US size 0 clothing (Australian size 6). The 167cm-tall star, once famous for her curves, has dropped to a tiny 43kg, with experts warning her extreme diet could be damaging her health.

Although the former Spice Girl blames the stress of moving her family to LA for her weight loss, insiders say the 33-year-old eats just one meal a day, consisting of steamed fish, vegetables and salad, in order to maintain her painfully thin figure.

"If she's eating only once a day there's no way she's getting enough nutrition from that amount of calories," says Sydney-based dietitian Susie Burrell.

A close friend of the celebrity confirms, "She can go a whole day eating almost nothing and just drinking lots of tea. She has no appetite whatsoever because her stomach has shrunk."

Experts warn the diet may make it difficult for her to fall pregnant again, especially as she suffers from Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) — which can affect fertility if not managed properly.

Courtney's skin and bones

Courtney Love has dropped a staggering 25 kilograms in just 16 weeks, sparking fears she's gone too far with her dieting obsession.

The gaunt-looking star shocked many as she arrived at a party for Drew Barrymore last week.

"She looked really unhealthy. She was all skin and bones," a fellow guest at the event says.

Having struggled with her weight throughout her life, Courtney admits she's now succumbed to Hollywood's obsession with being super skinny.

The actress/rocker says she weighed 82kg and was shocked into losing the weight after a photo shoot with Italian Vogue.

"I couldn't fit into anything; all the backs had to be cut out, and I was like, 'I'm gonna fit into sample size, dammit!'" she says. "One can never be too rich or too thin in Hollywood."

However, friends fear Courtney's weight loss is already taking a toll on her health, after she appeared disoriented during a dinner at Beverly Hills restaurant Mr Chow.

Mary Kate's skinny crisis

A painfully thin Mary-Kate Olsen has sparked fears that she's suffered a relapse of an eating disorder.

The 20-year-old actress horrified onlookers with her skeletal frame as she shopped in Beverly Hills, with one witness telling Woman's Day, "She just didn't look healthy. Her bones were sticking out."

Friends of the pint-sized star, who stands 157cm tall and weighs just 38kg, fear that her turbulent relationship with boyfriend Max Snow, 21, has sent Mary-Kate on a downward spiral.

"She's not at her strongest emotionally right now, and it's taking a physical toll," says a friend. "Her way of dealing with stress is not to eat. It's a coping mechanism."

It appears Mary-Kate's current weight is just slightly above the 35kg she reportedly weighed before seeking treatment in 2004. However Mary-Kate refuses to believe that she's too skinny.

"Even when Ashley asks if she's lost weight, Mary-Kate acts offended," says the friend.

And just last week Mary-Kate told reporters she feels "sexy".

"She just doesn't seem to see what everyone else does," explains the friend.
