Like many troubled stars, Britney Spears has undertaken a variety of self-help endeavours to clean up her act. But sources say her latest program seems to have taken root gardening.
Known as "flower therapy", the program is said to use plants to help "balance physical and emotional disturbances".
"Britney has tried every kind of therapy going. She's studied yoga, seen numerous counsellors and even experimented with mysticism, but they've never been more than passing fads. This time seems different though," an insider has told press.
Sobriety is of paramount importance for Britney these days, with her custody of 3-year-old Sean and 2-year-old Jayden dependant on clear results in her random drug and alcohol tests.
"She's committed to learning as much as she can about horticulture and how it impacts your well being."
Apparently Jack Canfield's book Chicken Soup for the Gardener's Soul planted the seed of the idea and has brought Britney "a lot of solace".
"Whenever she returns to her California home she's straight out in the garden working," the source says.
"She's very proud and knowledgeable about what she's planted and what is growing around her home."
