Kanye West's mother dies after liposuction

The mother of rap star Kanye West died at the weekend after undergoing a cosmetic surgery procedure.

A coroner is investigating whether Donda West's death was caused by complications during a combined surgery which included liposuction at a medical centre in Los Angeles.

The 58-year-old had worked for 30 years at Chicago State University, most recently as head of the English department, but had recently left her job to help manage her son's music career.
