Sandra Bullock has joked about her marriage breakdown, during her first public appearance since she split from husband Jesse James.

The new mum of adopted son Louis was honoured at the Guys Choice Awards in Los Angeles and spoke about her troubled private life after her husband's infidelity.

The 44-year-old looked stunning in a figure-hugging black dress as she picked up the Troops' Choice Award.

She appeared to have no problem attributing her award to the recent attention on her private life.

"Let's be honest here, just for a moment," the UK's Sun reported Bullock said when she collected her award.

"Did I win this for being entertainer of the year, or did I win this because of the spectacular IED [improvised explosive device] explosion that became my personal life?!

"It's okay. Because I would do it over again if it was to entertain our troops, and our extraordinary troops deserve something much more than some actress in a tight dress talking [about] herself," she said.

"Having a dad that's a veteran, I see the sacrifices you made for this country. I'm so lucky every day to wake up having what I have and I thank you guys for that."

Other stars who were honoured at the awards included Charlize Theron Jessica Biel, model Brooklyn Decker and George Clooney.

She's a lady all the way. No wonder her ex feels uncomfortable and has to have a go at her with his look alike fiancee.....He simply can't feel good about himself for who and what he lost, and he will wake up with that every day of his life. His over the top (Tom Cruise like), expression of Kat Von D's love for him, really does show that he's trying too hard. I just hope that Ms Bullock doesn't stay alone, she is a fine woman who deserves to be loved genuinely.
Most couples expirience spontanious sexsual encounters if they have sex with eachother a lot, reason, there hormones are on fire and faramones electrify. The unasuming party on fire is like a magnet to preditors and if you carry a tital as Jessie and say Clinton, the temptations the preditor throw is sometimes mistaken to the recipient as the sweat cherrie pie he or she has just been with and love. Now after the event, usually the targetted ones guilt is reviled to the other party almost imediatly after the event, now its upto the pair to sort it out, but in Sandras case, she to me seems like the spoilt little girl drama queen type, and everthing has always been turned from a moulhill into a mountain.
I heart you Sandra. You are my knew fav role model for young women. You have shown us that no man should define who we are or how we feel. Go the girl power, you are a strong, beautiful, sophisticated woman who hasn't let the failings of her husband ruin her life. I absolutely respect you and praise you for holding your head high and saying "screw you too"!
Good on you Sandra, stand tall and yeap the joke is on your Ex hubby. A well chosen public appearance. Those that sacrific themselves for others, far apart from your Ex husbands selfishness. Move on and keep going forward.
