  • Take care of your body – look good, feel good!

  • Feed your mind: read a classic novel or biography

  • Give something back to those who deserve it. Contribute your time or professional skills to a charity that supports women in need, or join a mentoring program for young people and help boost their esteem.

  • Feeling flat? Put on some of your favourite tunes while you’re getting ready for a night out to get you in the mood. Then choose an outfit that always gets you compliments and head out in style!

  • Give yourself a break – you deserve it after running around after your family all week. Get someone to watch the kids, then book yourself in for a mani, pedi or massage on a weekend morning. Ah, a morning to yourself, bliss!

  • Need a pick-me-up? Grab a banana instead of a choccie bar – naturally sweet bananas have a low GI meaning they give you long-lasting, slow-release energy.

  • Sleep can do wonders for your outlook, mood and well-being. Most of us need at least 8 hours, so instead of falling asleep on the couch, plan to hop into bed before the zzzz’s hit. You’ll feel far more refreshed than waking up at midnight in front of the telly with a stiff neck.

  • Little details can add up to a lot when you’re trying to make a good first impression, be it for an interview or date. So get your eyebrows shaped regularly, file and paint your nails, and step out with confidence.

  • Get those feel-good endorphins pumping with an hour-long power-walk in your neighbourhood (or head to the bedroom with your partner for some under-the-covers exercise!).

  • When heading out on a first date, ask a girlfriend whose style you admire to come over to help you plan your look. That way, you’ll be confident that you look great before you even step out the door to meet the new guy.

  • Who cares if your tummy’s a bit chubby or your thighs are larger than you’d like? Whip on a flowing maxi-dress and you’ll be noticed more for its gorgeous bold print than your size. Go, girl!

  • Always try to see the positives in negative situations. For example, even if you have to work back late, remember how pleased your boss will be when you win that new client (and don’t forget to remind her at bonus time).

  • If you look good, you’ll feel good. We’re not saying you have to put on make-up for a trip to the corner store, but do get your roots done regularly, avoid trackies outside of the house (except for exercise!) and wear at least a slick of gloss and some tinted moisturiser to the office.

i thought confidence was the person within. Our outsides may look good but the person within needs more training. Telling yourself you look beautiful or not concerning about how you look. Love yourself for who you are. If people hate it, people hate it. If people love it, it is because it is you. p.s LOVE THIS SITE, I REALLY NEEDED ALL THOSE ADVICE TO HELP ME WITH MY CONFIDENCE. From now on i'm not going to care what i wear, as long as a like it and i have the smile IM GOOD Thanks
make up is great for some charity is good for others, what would be nice is if people found self worth and confidence in themselves rather than externally or quick fixes to make momentary confidence and happiness. if you dont feel good about yourself ask why and yoi'll find out how to fix it.
why don't you save that money you spend on makeup to the corner - shop for something more worthwhile like charity (however cliche it sounds - saving lives goes a longer way than wearing make-up to the corner shop to pick up the local drunkards)
why oh why cant we get some of these confidence tips for the shyer males out here? its always confidence boosters for the girls! i lack the confidence to go out feeling good about myself. i only came onto this page out of curiosity, and once agin find it just for the ladies. oh well....
I totally agree, i put on make-up even if i am at home cleaning, makes me feel good!!!even some mascara and lip gloss.
Thankyou, first time I have actually read this webpage, just when I needed it. Felt so flat this morning and now I feel ready to face the day!!!
still... full make-up for a trip to the corner store is still a must in some corners of this world [places we'd normally associate with sophistication, glamour, elegance.....]. It doesn't hurt.. believe me. I've been doing this for years and does help
