Keith Urban confessed to missing his wife Nicole Kidman so much he broke down in tears as he watched her on the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles earlier this week.

"I was telling Nic before that when we finally got into Sydney, I got to the house, flicked on the TV and I got to see my wife, I got to see what she was wearing," he said yesterday.

"I hit pause on one shot and stood there staring at her... and started crying. I hated the fact she was there without me, on her own."

The loved-up pair looked overjoyed at being reunited yesterday at Sydney airport, as Nicole touched down on home soil in time for the 2nd AACTA (Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts) Awards, which takes place today.

The actress will have to tear herself away from her musician husband once again to walk the red carpet, while Keith performs at Allphones Arena as part of his Australian tour, The Story So Far.

It's been a tough and emotional week for the country music crooner, who was forced to postpone his third Brisbane concert due to the flooding emergency in Queensland.

Despite the difficulties, Keith’s latest tour looks set to be his most successful yet, thanks largely to his turn as coach on the inaugural season of The Voice.

It’s believed many of his audience on this tour are newcomers, who got to know the nice-guy musician on the ratings juggernaut last year.
